Cyber security concerns everyone

From phishing emails that steal passwords to ransomware attacks that encrypt data: The field of cybercrime as the downside of digitalization is vast. Criminals are infiltrating digitalized supply chains and disrupting networked logistics worldwide. transport logistic 2025 addresses the topic of security in supply chains with international exhibitors and leading institutions such as the German Logistics Association (BVL).
Anyone can become the victim to a cyber attack. The topic is omnipresent and affects all companies. In addition to the freight transport, intralogistics and equipment exhibition areas, cyber security solutions can be found primarily in Hall B1 (see hall plan on page 4). Companies from the IT, telematics, e-business and telecommunications sectors will be exhibiting here. Based on recent years, the trade fair is once again expecting a high proportion of decision-makers on the visitor side.
The European NIS2 regulation, which came into force in October 2024, aims to raise the level of security in network and information systems. The high demand for more resilient supply chains is now placing security software and systems as well as cyber security certifications at the center of discussions at the trade fair. ‘Everyone involved in the supply chain is experiencing the increasing threat of cybercrime. The potentially existential consequences of cyberattacks go beyond the responsibility of the IT department. Cyber security must therefore be a management-level responsibility. Many companies need to take action here,’ warns Marius Roy, Project Manager Trends & Markets at BVL.
In the ‘Cybersecurity in transport and logistics’ panel (Forum Hall A2), BVL will be presenting a new white paper at transport logistic and discussing the current situation with global companies such as Noerpel. The topic is also becoming more explosive in terms of digitalized supply chains. On Tuesday, the digital association Bitkom will discuss ‘Future Trends in Route Planning’ in Forum Hall B1, while the Zaragoza Logistics Center will address the topic of ‘Enhancing Supply Chain Resilience through Digital Technologies’ in Forum Hall A1.
