Start-ups transform logistics

Start-ups have been transforming the logistics industry for years. They are driving technological innovation and the adoption of digital business models. The variety of solutions is enormous, ranging from freight brokerage and urban delivery concepts to the optimisation of warehouse processes.
It is estimated that there are around 60 to 100 start-ups active in Germany alone. Although the industry has now reached a phase of consolidation and maturation, there are still exciting new start-ups, as evidenced by the annual start-up competition organised by Logistik-Cluster Schwaben (LCS).
This year’s three winners will present their solutions at ‘transport logistic’ in the ‘Logistics Changers – Start-ups Rock Logistics!’ session. The winners are Slapstack (which optimises floor block storage with an AI-supported solution), Avalon Solutions (which automates load planning and e-truck control) and Loady (a data-sharing platform for industrial transport loading requirements). The subsequent panel discussion will focus on the current challenges facing logistics. (la)
